Obituary

Margaret (George) Drenta passed away with love and peace in her heart on February 22, 2018 in her Las Vegas, NV home of 28 years.

Margaret is finally reunited with all the beloved souls who passed before her: son, Emil Valerius Drenta II, husband of 28 years, Emil Valerius Drenta, parents Charles and Martha George, sisters Mildred Elfaye and Sarah Silski, brothers Louis, Edward, Albert and Lyn. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret “Dee” Drenta and grandsons Anthony Emil and Nicholas Scott Flabi.

Born

Margaret was born in Canton, Ohio on August 30, 1931 to proud, hard-working Syrian immigrant parents. She earned her Masters Degree at Kent State University and worked as a 4th, 5th and 6th grade teacher in Canton Township for 12 years. In 1959, she and husband, Emil, moved to their 165-acre farm in Navarre, soon after which they built the housing development originally known as Dee-Mar Lakes Allotment on Fohl Road near the intersection of Shepler Church Road. They raised Arabian horses, pedigreed racing pigeons and many loved dogs, especially Mirage, an extraordinary white German Shepherd.

Health

Margaret’s health required the family move to a warmer climate and they relocated to Glendale, AZ in 1973. After her daughter’s wedding in 1977, death of her 13-year old son in 1978, birth of grandson Anthony in 1979, her own divorce in 1980, birth of grandson Nicholas in 1982, and her return to Ohio to care for her ailing mother until her passing, Margaret moved to Las Vegas at the same time her daughter and grandsons relocated there in February 1990.

Favorite Pastimes

She LOVED to play bingo and poker slot machines through which she met and made many wonderful acquaintances and friends! On her Glendale, AZ headstone it is already inscribed “Love One Another”.
